Any ideas on how to find strength and interest enough to study 3d books?

I love to play in my programs and find new tools that way but I really, really should study a bit more to use the potential of the programs.

I´ve learned the stuff I know about C4D and Z-brush from tutorials and trial and error but I´ve owned Rhino for more than a year without using it...phew I really have to find some focus for that.

:-) Way to go, motivation, determination! Delving into Mysteries... sounds pretty exciting...

For a change of pace...
Don't know if there are any DVDs for Rhino, I imagine it would be more entertaining and you can relax while
watching the demonstration, while the content is filtering through your mind.

Problem with Rhino is that is so theoretical, full of commands and math...not my cup of tea at all but the potential of Nurbs modelling is so exiting so I WILL learn!
I think the only way is to go by the book, do the tuts, write down some stuff.

I made my first simple model today, so it´s a small progress for the world but a huge leap for me LOL

Great!!!
I am very non technical, not just non-math myself, just being put to the ultimate test. I lost my entire 2.5 gig G5 harddrive today, had to go on erase after 2 days of trying to salvage something, my phone died as well as I was struggling with tech support. Had to buy a new one and wait for it to charge up, but tech support couldn't save me. I am on an old computer right now, at least I just got internet comnnection back up. What a nightmare...

And I made up my mind! I will read the damn books and learn even if it´s boring. Starting today with the first steps into the mysteries of Rhinos Nurbs :D

I don't know man...I've always found that the easiest way is through the trial and error method. Mind you, I know there's a whole lot more for me to figure out, but that's how I learned everything I've done so far. Actually I have also used a couple of tutorials for lighting effects in Mojo and Vue.

Peace. . .

Yeah I also like the trial and error method, It has worked fine in poser, vue and cinema but not in Rhino, donno why but I guess its the boring interface :-)

I always wanna create from scratch and don´t struggle with boring menus but I guess I have to learn he he

I personally have never tried Rhino myself, though I have it and have heard great things...I guess I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to working with it.:)

I think it would be great to create all of my own models and everything also, but I guess I'm still scared to actually chance it......Someday. lol

Mmm yeah Ive been modelling a bit now and then for several years now, mostly in C4D but I think it´s time to take it a step further. Begin to get hang of the Rhino interface now and it´s a new world opening :-) Im a HUGE fan of pipes and tubes and here I can easily create any pipe I want! :D

Glad U like my work :-) and Happy Easter to you too!
And well Poser and Vue aint no problem, I have used them for about 7 years, the problem is to read boring books about deeper 3d creation ;-)
